Assistant Professor

I am an Assistant Professor in the Computing Sciences Department at Bocconi University in Milan, where I co-lead the MilaNLP Lab together with Dirk Hovy.

I study how people use language technologies in everyday life, with a focus on Natural Language Processing and AI ethics.

I was awarded a €1.5m ERC Starting Grant project 2023 for research on personalized and subjective approaches to Natural Language Processing. I also serve on the Editorial Committee of Fondazione Editoriale Domani.

I have co-organized several international workshops, including the Workshop on Gender Bias in Natural Language Processing (GeBNLP), the Workshop on Computational Approaches to Subjectivity, Sentiment and Social Media Analysis (WASSA), and the Workshop on Online Abuse and Harms (WOAH) at *ACL conferences. I have also organized shared tasks on misogyny, homotransphobia, multilingual hate speech, and multilingual text detoxification.
